Electrical Appliance Safety

All electrical appliances have inherent dangers. Operating instructions and safety instructions must always be understood and adhered to.

• Keep curling irons and hair dryers out of children’s reach. Unplug and store when not in use. These appliances can cause partial thickness (2nd degree) burns to a child. Many people have accidentally burnt their face and eyes with these appliances.

• Cover unused electrical outlets with safety plugs.

Other electrical items for which care should be taken when young children are present include:

• Kettles
• Stoves/ovens
• Irons
• Light fittings
