Outdoor Safety

Burns are not always caused instantly and can go unnoticed for a period of time.

• Ultraviolet light from the sun can cause severe burns. Wear a hat that covers and protects the neck. Use sun protection cream, particularly on the nose and the tops of the ears, and especially between the hours of 11am and 4pm.

• Wear thick long pants if riding on a motorbike, trike or quad. Beware the hot exhaust, which can cause serious burns if contact is made with bare skin.

• Never start a fire or re-light a slow fire with any kind of flammable liquid such as petrol or paraffin.
